ASQ (American Space Qurghonteppa) sponsored jointly by a U.S. embassy and a host country organization, an American Corner serves as an information outpost similar to a public library. The multi-media, book and periodical collections are open and accessible. Where possible, associated reading or meeting rooms are made available to host program events and activities (i.e. author readings, speaker programs, films, workshops, meetings, and exhibits). The fundamental function of the American Space is to make information about the United States available to foreign publics at large.

American Space consists of a collection of books in English from and about the United States. The book collection may include reference titles, information products from the State Department Office of International Information Programs, works of fiction, business and government publications. English Language Learning materials. American Corners also provide access to U.S. information through access to the Internet, audio and video products, CDs, and CD-ROMS. The Corners are staffed by host institution personnel.

The Coordinator of American Space Qurghonteppa Haitov Tojiddin.

     Meet our ETAs

Our ETA's have been very useful for the ASQ. They brought light to the students by giving them the knowledge of thinking and the language. They have done the best job. Their Ideas worked successfully. Some of the students became their best friends and some of the students visited the United States and some to Japan. It was their hard work that our students got success in their studies and most in their grammar and speaking skills. Some of the students started from the beginning, learning the English language. Best of the times were spent with ETA's. We need these kind of guiders for our students, because without light you cannot see anything. Unless, teacher is a light which guides you to the straight path. Our ETA's shared their culture, language, and things that they have been learning in the US with our students.
